Mountain Bikes are being used for everything from trail riding to off-road racing, commuting, touring and recreational riding. Though in existence only since the early '80s, Mountain Bikes are the biggest sellers of all two-wheelers on the market. They represent about seventy five percent of all adult bicycles purchased today. These bikes have shock-absorbent flat-resistant fat tires, convenient shift and brake levers, strong frame, fork and wheels, low gears and plenty of load-carrying capacity. Most models offer shock-absorbing suspension forks to smooth out the bumps and for the extreme rider both front and rear suspension models are available.
