Locally owned and operated since 1976, began as a BMX Bicycle Specialty Shop selling custom made BMX bikes and accessories. BMX racing and Freestyle biking was just beginning to capture young America's fancy and with the largest selection of  BMX products on the east coast, Wooden Wheels soon developed a reputation as the place to shop for everything that was hot in BMX and Freestyling as well as the best in technical advice and service. A complete selection of skateboards and trendy shoes were added in the late 70's.

In the mid 80's Mountain Biking became the new rage and Wooden Wheels was there with a greatly expanded full line bike shop. As in the heydays of BMX, Wooden Wheels quickly developed a reputation as the place to go for all the latest and hottest Mountain Biking products, service, and the best technical advice. Wooden Wheels also actively sponsored and promoted Mountain Bike racing events and still continues to do so today.

Today, Wooden Wheels is Delaware's largest family owned bicycle shop, with 7,400 square feet dedicated to providing our customers with the latest and best in BMX, Freestyle, Mountain, Road and Comfort-bicycles plus a large selection of accessories.
